As a practicing physician with a longstanding European Medical background Dr. Marina Kropp, MD offers our community a unique combination of medical services. Her conventional medical training received in Europe and the US has served as a necessary foundation allowing for the optimal understanding and application of the fundamental principles of Holistic and Alternative Medicine. In addition to a conventional medical background Dr. Kropp completed her European postgraduate four year Fellowship in Acupuncture, Homeopathy, and some other Holistic modalities. While encompassing the beauty of both worlds, this unique training combination provides her with powerful leverage allowing for the full integration of both systems.
Dr. Kropp completed four years of postdoctoral Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, and is Board Certified in Physiatry. Physiatry (fizz ee at' tri) is a field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. While generally endorsing the ultimate goal of functional restoration, this area of Medicine is specifically designated to diagnose and treat a wide range of both immediate and longstanding problems including diseases of Musculoskeletal and Neuromuscular systems (including diseases of Joints, Spine as well as Central and Peripheral Nervous Systems), consequences of Cardiovascular events (such as stroke), management of Posttraumatic brain injury, as well as Spasticity management. The field of Physiatry is applicable to patients in all age groups.
An additional year Fellowship in Neurophysiology and Electrodiagnostic Medicine followed Dr. Kropp's four years of postdoctoral Residency in Physiatry. This field of medicine represents a subspecialty of Medicine which is also known as Neuromuscular Medicine. As a Board Certified physician in the field of Neurophysiology and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Dr. Kropp specializes in diagnosing and treating focal and generalized disorders of muscles and nerves as encompassed by the area of Neuromuscular Medicine.
In addition, Dr. Kropp is Board Certified in Homeopathy and Complementary/Alternative Medicine and was awarded the title of Homeopathic Medical Doctor (HMD). This extremely unique title is only awarded to 0.06% of qualified physicians throughout the US (considering the total number of the country's practicing physicians).
Dr. Kropp's personal mission is based on approaching the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in continuity with the fundamental principles of Medical Philosophy as they date back to the time of the Greatest Physician and the Father of Medicine - Hippocrates. This medical approach is guided by the Essential Principles and Laws of Natural Medicine.
